NEW DLC Regulations!

In Speed 1 Racing 2.0, we WILL be allowing DLC in both the Forza Motorsport games, and the NEW NASCAR games, including NASCAR 2011: The Game

Before we get into the details, a little preface:

Before S1 2.0, we didn't allow for DLC content to be used. This was because those who do not purchase DLC for Forza Motorsport do not see the competitors (that did buy DLC, and use a DLC car) car.

Now that we've gotten past that, the explanation:

So here is the deal, we know that Forza Motorsport 3 had issues with people who didn't have the same DLC, but the cars operated as they should have. Its just unfortunate that we won't be able to easily tell drivers apart. But it is our understanding that there will be tracks in DLC, which we won't be purchasing, for the most part. Basically we wont be using those tracks. BUT, if you are taking part in team racing, have at it and race whatever track you wish!

How's it going everyone? Hopefully well for all of you. As you may have noticed, we haven't been doing much on the site lately and when we do, it is for a short period of time.

Well it turns out that Battlefield 3 is the source of the problem. Now, as much as we love racing in Forza Motorsport, we also really love shooter games! And with the recent release of Battlefield 3 and the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, we fear that the site will get less attention. So, as a precaution, the site may become inactive for the next week or two.

BUT, we will try our best to show some love to the site and keep you guys updated on the news!

Welcome to Forza Motorsport 4

Speed 1 Racing has finally made it to Forza 4, the latest installment to the Forza Motorsport series! So far, we are in love with the game, and have found no cons yet. We recognize almost all of the cars from FM3 and a ton of new ones. New tracks as well! We will get back to you when we figure out what we plan to do with the game, but for now, we've included a photo that was taken using the Nissan Skyline.

Recent Changes

We haven't been in touch lately, but since our last post, a couple of things have changed.

The first being that we've adopted a new website look. This look is more modernized, and overall brings a more functional design to the table. Also, a new name for our racing series, "NASCAR Prototype". We are now calling it "NASCARp". I'm sure you can tell why.

Also, we will create a new tag for "NASCARp", but will also use the original one, so finding old posts regarding NASCARp will still be easy to find.

Alright, we have been gone for QUITE SOME TIME now and we are finally back! Its funny how things don't always work out as promised! But there isn't a lot to talk about right now. Just no new news!

As obvious as it is, we felt this would be a good topic to cover today.

Speed 1 Racing is EXCLUSIVE to the Xbox 360 platform. We were at one point contemplating a multi-platform team, racing on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. But our selected person that would host/maintain all PlayStation activities made the switch to the Xbox 360 after his PS3 died on him.

As we have said before, we are quite busy with the 2011-2012 school year. That is leaving us very little time to work with other things, like Speed 1 Racing.

So if you are wondering if we have begun our search for drivers, the answer is sadly, still, no.

Things are moving slow on the S1 side, but our personal lives are making it hard to keep up with the site, but we are doing our very best.

Well, seeing that we are a NASCAR style of racing, we will be racing mainly at speedway tracks. But to get back to our roots for our first race, we have selected more road course tracks than speedway tracks.

The truth of the matter is, we haven't started looking for our new members. And damortm, former Speed 1 Racing member (Also considered as co-founder), has not yet responded to our outreach.

However, we will only be looking for two to three teammates at the most. We believe in small groups, not huge communities.

We are starting to run low on topics for our daily articles, so we've decided to share our outline (schedule) of Speed 1 Racing 2.0

This list includes our goals, plans, and some other stuff in between. The dates are deadline dates as well. So here we go:

August (No specific date): Launch Speed 1 Racing 2.0
August 31st: Launch Marketplace by Speed 1 Racing
September 3rd: Officially announce NASCAR Prototype series
September 10th: Have launch date of NASCAR Prototype series - Should there be any drivers
September 11th: Should there be no drivers, continue with small promotions - Build audience - Start NASCAR Prototype series
September 31st: Launch Marketplace by Speed 1 Racing Points System
October: TO BE REVEALED!

As time goes on we will be showing more and more of our plan, or "Roadmap", if you will.

Desings for S1 2.0

ALL designs by Speed 1 Racing for Speed 1 Racing, NASCAR Prototype, and other S1 stuff, is EXCLUSIVE to Speed 1 Racing. We will ONLY be sharing OFFICIAL content with OFFICIAL members. Some content won't even be shared with our members, just our drivers.

Currently we are working on stuff for the cars and for the members like NASCAR Prototype logos, Speed 1 Racing logos, etc...

We will, however, be creating slightly modified versions of our official creations for fans. These modified versions clearly state that it a "Fan Edition" of the artwork.

If you can remember from our last run, we tried daily posting once before. And things didn't work out so well...

But we are bringing back daily posts and updates! S1R 2.0 is special and it deserves special treatment. We have already done some new things with the site and we are doing more. One of our new features is the ability to subscribe to our site via Email. Just put in the Email address you want to use and click on the button that says "Submit". And another is "Labels"! Finding posts has never been easier! Just click on the Label that you think describes what your looking for and you will be taken to a page with all posts that include the said Label!

We are adding more features as we go as well. NASCAR Prototype has no official start date yet, but practice is starting up soon. So don't wait to join the team! Just like last year, just comment on ANY post on the site letting us know you want to join and we'll go from there!

As most or all Forza fans know, FM4 is coming out this year. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Speed 1 Racing will be going into Forza Motorsport 4 at release. (We are Modern Warfare fans as well)

HOWEVER, we COULD POSSIBLY see FM4 action in Speed 1 Racing in early 2012. But until then, we will race in BOTH FM3 and NASCAR The Game 2011. Members who plan to race will need both games, but if you just can't get a hold of both, we don't mind which one it is.

Once we get into FM4, we will combine the NASCAR Prototype series' into one in this game. One of our general rules from the old S1 was that add-on car packs for the Forza Motorsport games were NOT required, and we didn't allow for DLC cars to be used under any circumstance.

The same will apply for FM4 and NASCAR 2011 alike.

Marketplace is LIVE!

Yesterday we built the new S1R 2.0 Marketplace and now its LIVE! However, we are only running through a testing period and only a handful of orders will be accepted. We've chosen now to do this because we are back down to a low-to-no fanbase and the few people that know we are back can help us out.

As we Build...

As we build our new website, we are going to be adding A LOT of new features to the site. Some you may have already noticed. For example, the new "Labels" feature. With these labels, you will be able to find posts related to a certain topic easily and seamlessly. Some other features are coming soon.

And we will be doing a much better job of keeping up with our posting this time around.

But as for now, to hopefully avoid our previous downfall, we will start slow, and introduce new features as we go.

P.S. -- One of the things that you can expect to NOT see, is the Marketplace. Marketplace, for those of you who are new, was a market that sold Speed 1 Racing e-merchandise. We started with free items, and turned it into a points system, where drivers and fans alike would be able to use points that they earned by using the site to get exclusive wallpapers, videos and other stuff. HOWEVER, we ARE working on A NEW Marketplace, and should we introduce it, things WILL BE much different than before.

This time around we are starting fresh with a new business plan. We will start with new members, with the invitation being open to members of the former Speed 1 Racing as well. We will also NOT be refreshing "Rally Drive" or "Team Speeed 1".

We will start with what quite possibly could have prolonged the existence of the original Speed 1 Racing; "NASCAR Prototype" series. If your new to the site, or just don't remember back to when we decided between the two racing series', "NASCAR Prototype" is about a select group of cars that we deemed "NASCAR" prototype cars. This is in NO WAY affiliated with NASCAR or any other professional racing promotion. This idea also incorporates "24/7" super-speedway racing. No road course racing here.

As mentioned before, "NASCAR Prototype" will be held under the title of Speed 1 Racing, but we are in talks of abandoning the Speed 1 Racing name for "NASCAR Prototype" as our full group name.

And to add to all of this, we will be doing a much-needed website overhaul. All original posts from the old Speed 1 Racing will be archived at another location, and a new website will be created to house the new Speed 1 Racing.

There is no word yet on whether we should consider this "official", but we are still in "ALPHA" stages as of now. We will keep you posted.
